About Us

We are a small group of stained glass artists in Columbus, Ohio. Hammer Glassworks exist to amplify light in the world. Through our art, we enhance the natural beauty of the sun to bring gorgeous colors into your space. For those in our community, we work to bring the light of hope in tough times through our work with local non-profit organizations. We are committed to improving the lives of those around us who are in need. Since our first sale, we have donated a portion of all profits to local non-profit organizations providing basic services: food, water, shelter, education, etc.

As you browse through our art, you may notice the lack of a defining style. This is by design. We embrace the different styles of all of our artists and work together as a team to help create each of the pieces that you see. When you purchase one of our pieces, we commit a portion of the proceeds to the designing artist's non-profit of choice. You will see the non-profit they support in their profile below.

Our Team

Ryan is one of the founders of Hammer Glassworks. Ryan's career started in engineering and later to managing manufacturing, logistics, and reverse logistics/repair facilities. After this 20-year career, he stumbled upon the world of creativity through Donnalyn's work. Learning about the science of creativity and the process of deliberate creative problem-solving changed the course of his life and career. shortly after joining Knowinnovation, all employees were asked to learn something new through the gift of a subscription to Skillshare. Ryan watched an introduction to stained-glass course and within a week, he was creating and the seed of Hammer Glassworks began to germinate.Ryan supports Community Housing Network

Donnalyn is the other founder of Hammer Glassworks and prefers to spend her working on new design ideas and inspiring the team to think more about what might be possible. Both in our art and life. Her passion for creativity and her desire to inspire others to discover their inner creative self are a central part of what makes Hammer Glassworks an amazing place. Donnalyn supports ALS CURE PROJECT and SUMMER STARS.

Care Instructions

Caring for your stained-glass involves a few simple steps to ensure it remains beautiful and vibrant. We recommend the following:

Dusting: Regularly dust your sun catcher with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cloths that could scratch the glass.

Cleaning: For a deeper clean, do not use water. Water can increase oxidation on the frame and solder joints. Instead, apply a small amount of 100% Caruba wax over the full surface. Wait a few moments, then buff gently with a soft cloth until all of the wax is gone and the glass is restored to its original shine.

Proper Hanging: Ensure that your sun catcher is hung securely. Use a sturdy hook and consider the weight of the piece to prevent it from falling. We do not recommend using window suction hangers as they will eventually fail. This almost always results in damage to your stained-glass.

By following these care instructions, you can enjoy your stained-glass sun catcher's beauty for many years.

Return / Exchange Policy

If you are not happy with an item, please email or call us. We will happily refund an item if it is postmarked for return within 14 days of purchase. We will either refund the cost of the item or provide an exchange. We do not refund shipping costs.

If your package arrives and appears damaged from the outside, please take photographs of the box before opening it. This will help us with damage claims with the shipper.
